Gina Nigro: Quiet Library
Quiet Library
By Gina Nigro @ginajonigro
I create interactive “quiet books” that delve into the themes and nuances of banned or challenged books. Each one, at 9x9 inches, brings stories like The Handmaid's Tale, The Librarian of Basra: A True Story from Iraq, Drama, and A Child Called It: One Child's Courage to Survive to the viewer through my eyes. Through tactile and visual elements, I try to engage viewers in a thought-provoking journey, offering a unique way to experience and reflect on these important, and often controversial, narratives.
