For no big reason but lots of small reasons I set to make coins. I've been carving coins for 20 years, mostly as a private practice to commemorate some or other life change. These past few years have been such a whirlwind it just seemed like the perfect time to finally try to flesh out a body of these.
The monotypes are the last ones(spring 2011) and all are 20x30". The gold coins are 12" diameter carved pine with spraypaint. The clay coins are between 2 and 4" in diameter, high fire stoneware or porcelain. The drawings are 3-4' in diameter, pencil and ink on paper.
