100 Days of VOTE Signs
About the 100 Days project(sorry about 3rd person press release voice...)
Artist and educator Paul Collins is painting VOTE signs everyday for the 100 days leading up to our 2020 presidential election. The signs are (mostly)modest in size and are designed to be placed in the landscape as small animated sculptural surprises for the viewer to drive voter awareness and utilize small gestures of generosity to provide relief from the political and public health tensions of our fraught current environment. Signs have been made and placed publicly at bus stops, traffic medians and neighborhood hubs throughout Middle Tennessee, and shipped nationwide for friends and strangers who requested custom animal shapes on Instagram. So far over 350 unique signs have been made, placed and shipped out. Each sign is handmade with its own original design and shape. And every sign is for free and distributed as a gift to drive civic engagement and build connections between the artist and his contiguous geographic and virtual communities.
